The Rebirth of PlayBook = OS 2

Few days back, with the launch of OS 2 for PlayBook, the whole crackberry nation was in euphoria! It marks the gigantic leap for RIM to keep up a fairly good competition with the other mobile companies. As we already know, the addition of native PIM and email client, made the PlayBook just complete. Together with the ability to pair a BlackBerry smartphone as a navigator and wireless keyboard, PlayBook has made its own stand to be one of the outstanding tablets out there. Reading through the forums, the hype of OS 2 is still going on with people expressing their feelings regarding the latest updates. Moreover, who had recently purchased the Bold 9900 (or 9930) together with a PlayBook feels that those two are a good combo.

I’m not pretty sure whether old devices are supported, but its safe to say, as long as your BlackBerry has OS 5 and above, you guys will definitely get benefits from this update.
Apart from that, the Android App Player as they call it also handles the Android apps pretty well. Some already report several crashes and memory leak but mostly it is due to end user error. There are already quite a number of Android apks being converted to BAR files to be sideloaded on the PlayBok. Don’t forget to check out Crackberry.com forum for the Android apps you wish to install on your PlayBook.

With the launch of BBOS10 in May or the next quarter of this year, RIM also promises to carry along an appropriate updates for the PlayBook. This means, few more goodies are on their way for PlayBook users. Being a loyal RIM customer since 2008, it is safe to say OS2 is not yet a perfect OS. There is still room for improvements in the future. That being said, OS2 currently has managed to tame all fanboys out there who had been whining about the initial PlayBook release.
All in all, we are quite satisfied with the current OS and if any major upgrades are on their way, they are most welcome to land in our PlaPerhaps we might not have the best apps compared to others but as of now, we can safely say that our most important apps are taken cared of. Currently, I have so many apps that I think has made my PlayBook a total desktop replacement. The only thing left is perhaps a charging dock in order to get the best viewing angle while charging. So go out, find the nearest mobile store and get yourself a PlayBook and a BlackBerry smartphon. You won’t regret :)
