My Blackberry Addiction!

Hey I’m back again. This is just a simple post about my blackberry collections. In this post you will see models of blackberry phones I’ve owned/used and a quick review of them. Stay tuned!

1) Blackberry Curve 8900

An entry level blackberry (now already replaced by Curve 8520 according to the latest market standard). I bought it on April 2008. It was a good phone with WiFi but no 3G. The camera is 3.2 mp and can shoot quite  a decent pictures (provided that you know at which angle you are shooting at and proper lightings). The only drawback is the trackball. I have problems with oily skin so while using this phone, sometimes the trackball gave me a big prob while navigating through the menus and browsing the internet.

Spec-wise: Yeah OK

Coolness Factor: Woah..its a Blackberry

Usability: Suitable for non-oily skinned people. Decent battery and performance

2) Blackberry Storm 9530

I sold my Curve to a friend for Rs.10k. I decided to buy this model because I need a bigger screen. This is the 1st touch screen phone from RIM. Its quite unique because you can actually CLICK the screen to execute the function on this phone. It is a 3G capable phone but lacks WiFi. It has  an excellent media capabilities. The latest official OS 5.0 will make it a better experience from the stock OS. With smooth scrolling and navigation it is the best competitor for iPhone. But now, the latest Storm 2 has taken its pride and I do recommend you guys to buy Storm 2 compared to this one. Storm 2 has both 3G and WiFi and the clicking mechanism on Storm 2 is the best yet so far for blackberry. The major problem with this phone is, low memory for apps. Thus, from time to time you have to do a battery pull to free up its memory. Quite troublesome you can say, but who cares, I love my Storm (especially with a 3rd party themes applied).

Spec-wise: Woot..woot!!

Coolness Factor: Is that an iPhone…OMG, its a Blackberry (again!!)

Usability: Suitable for all mankind who loves multimedia experience on their phone. But typing on this phone needs practice.

3) Blackberry 8700g

I sold my Storm to my junior for Rs 10k as well LOL. But this time, the only thing that made me changed my mind to buy this old model is the aesthetic value. Rather than look like a smart phone, this lil buddy here feels great in the hand. With full QWERTY keyboard it feels exactly like a normal phone and you dont have to worry about breaking or cracking it. This lil baby is a tank! I dropped it so many times, and yet still functioning like brand new. I bought this phone as a second hand model since the production already stopped few years back. However, being an old phone, running an old OS, sometimes it lags while using it especially with Twitter app.

Spec-wise: ah..just a dumb phone

Coolness Factor: I feel like Lincoln Burrow from Prison Break

Usability: Great typing experience, but bad ( I mean REALLY BAD) browsing experience because the web browser is damn slow and it will eat lots of RAMs.

………………………………………………………

Now, I’m eyeing for a new blackberry. This time I wanna a dumb-phone factor with a chic style look. I’m thinking of buying Pearl Flip 8220. Yep, its an old model (2008) but I like its style. Even though it only has WiFi and a 2mp camera, but for me it looks sexy and trendy. (Actually I was tempted to buy a flip phone because I saw a friend using SE W508 LOL).

Spec-Wise: so-so

Coolness Factor: Riinngg Riiinnggg *flips* “hello?”…..awesome~~

Usability: I’m going to find out soon :P

Okay that’s it! Bye~!
